Coasteering
The humble barnacle so often ignored
Sprawled over the rocks in a mosaic, stationary hoard
clings to the rock with a super glue embrace
I am so racked up with guilt when I tread on his face
A volcano in miniature, an impenetrable zit.
Consider his plight when on the rocks you do sit
Coasteering is probably the most engaging, physically demanding and challenging environment to work in. Many people dip their toe into it on a stag party, school trip or holiday. Sampling its delights in a very controlled and safe manner. But escape the teenage boyish competition to jump from the highest point, and it becomes an amazing way to explore the coast, investigating the knocks and crannies that can only be accessed in this unique way.
